Career Declutter

Make your career choice based on who you are, and what you know you can do.

“Having a clear strategy for your career is the first step.”

Career Declutter is a Personalised Career spring clean.

Career declutter combines a coaching session with some tangible ‘done-for-you’ products . We kick-start our work together with a brief chat about why you’re looking for help.  That’s followed up with a detailed goal-setting framework questionnaire, based on our “50 Top Tools” approach, designed to help you clarify your goal.

Organising your career is about having a clear goal and being bold enough to go for it…

Pulling together an awesome CV is only part of organising your career.  And yet, this can sometimes seem so overwhelming that you never make it off the start line.

Perhaps you’re stuck in a career rut and know that something has to change.  Or you know that you can do more but realise that you need clarity on what the ‘more’ is.  And maybe in these times of change you’ve just found out that the job you thought was secure isn’t!  Sometimes this can feel like a very lonely place.   But trust me, you’re not alone.

You may think that not having an up to date CV is the only thing stopping you from finding your dream job, or making sure you find a job.  But without a clear end goal for what you want this is like putting the proverbial cart before the horse! Writing your CV is the final step in pulling together all the pieces and organising them into your unique story.  Sell your story to yourself first, before you can sell it to others: if you feel proud of your achievements your cv will write itself!

“But I don’t know where to start!” I hear you say.

Well, that’s where I come in. And here’s how I help you organise your career so that you can go for it!

You Have to be a Story Teller Not a Sales Person – Inviting the Reader to Read On

Would you rather read a CV as long as War and Peace or one which gets to the point? When you know the plot of your story it’s much easier to weave in the details.  So, we come up with the plotline first through the creation of your headline – or ‘tweetable’, since that keeps it short and sweet!

Sometimes it’s easier for others to spot your great qualities and achievements.  And sometimes you just need a way of discovering them for yourself.  We work together one-on-one to create a pathway that helps you reveal your hidden treasure.   So, either way, you will have a list of all your great qualities and achievements.  You can then categorise them and create your own story of you.

You don’t have to be a salesperson to sell what you’ve done let your CV do the selling.

Your CV is only part of your Career Profile. Adapting aspects of your CV across different social media platforms, like LinkedIn, helps create your personal brand.  Raising your profile and getting you noticed.  Developing a system for creating multiple CVs and different viewpoints of your story means that you can use it time and again. And that system starts with your end goal – what you really want and why that’s important to you.  And that’s where the adventure begins!

Do you want a document, or a system for career development? You’ll get both, but what’s more, you’ll have a way of repeating the process for each career step you make.

A simple structure for your CV.

A database of your achievements.

A repeatable process for organising your career.

TESTIMONIALS

See what some of my clients have to say:

“something I have been putting off doing…”

“I have just finished doing some career coaching with Ro and was very pleased with it. Ro is fun and dynamic to work with and I can’t recommend the whole experience of the career de-cluttering enough – if you are at a bit of a cross roads. This is something I have been putting off doing and struggling with for over a year.

Ro helped me to articulate what it is that I want and to translate that into a new CV and linked in profile. Plus I used her CV generator tool which has been very helpful and will continue to be into the future.  Thanks very much Ro – loved doing this with you.”

“empowered me to identify and take ownership…”

“Ro provided me with coaching at a rather challenging point in my career, immediately following redundancy. Whilst being sensitive to my state of mind at the time she very professionally guided me through a thorough, logical and structured process to enable me to achieve a specific professional goal.

Ro’s thought provoking questions and challenges to my thinking were at times confronting and empowered me to identify and take ownership of a clear way forward from what was a rather overwhelming situation at the time. Ro’s approach was such that I felt respected, valued, encouraged, guided and in control throughout the process.”
